Sports Minister, Isaac Asiamah, has handed over a 3-bedroom house to Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah as official residence at a short ceremony.
The move follows revelation that government was shelling out $8,000 per month on hotel accommodation for Black Stars coaches.
The facility, located at Airport Residential Area, was renovated at a cost of $350,000 and was previously an abode of government ministers. It will serve as the official residence of all Black Stars coaches in the future.
“This will save the government a lot of money. The practice of paying huge sums of money in the past to hotels was never a good idea and was draining the state,” Asiamah said at the short ceremony.
