Dhat Gyal FundDhat Gyal
Young, up and coming music sensation, Dhat Gyal, has racked up some traction in the last couple of weeks, thanks to her epic tribute to the late Ebony Reigns and her nomination in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) ‘Unsung’ category – www.entertainmentgh.com has paid attention too, but another news about the songstress that made the headlines, was her open appeal for support for her education.

In quite an emotional interview with People’s Celebrity Awards GH. ‘Favorite Journalist of the Year’, Mustapha Inusah, Dhat Gyal made a plea to the general public to support her in her secondary education after circumstances led her to drop out of school.

She explained that her dream of enjoying higher education was cut short after her late mother, who was her only benefactor was knocked down by a vehicle and died instantly.

That interview rubbed some nerves, very influential nerves at the National Commission on Culture of Ghana (NCC), which also made efforts to solicit for support for the talented singer – www.entertainmentgh.com found out.

That petition for support was heard by Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of the Zylofon conglomerate and Chairman of the NAM Mission – and he’s decided to support.

Checks by www.entertainmentgh.com show that, the Zylofon Arts Fund, another laudable initiative from the stables of Zylofon, which is geared at providing succor for ‘underground’ and major players within arts industry – is set to offer the youngster a scholarship to cater to her education.

Refreshingly, the scholarship would include her secondary to university education and all the institutions would be of her choice.

This portal also found out that the Zylofon Arts Fund is also keen on supporting her with her musical works.

The Zylofon Arts Fund was set up to support practitioners within the creative sector to help in their respective projects with a start-up of $1 million with an interest-free rate for persons who would access the fund.

Further checks by this portal also depict that, months after its launch, the Board for the Fund, after receiving and perusing several applications, would commence distribution at a date to be announced by officials from Zylofon Media.
