One aspect of the current story difficult to stomach is how Becca’s father, Mr Acheampong, who impregnated the mum as a 15 year old even though he was married at the time, has sought to portray himself as a paragon of virtue and Becca’s mum as a metaphorical if not actual witch.
His "hypocrisy" stunk to high heavens when he released a statement painting Becca’s mum black for discussing their family issues in public when he had once done the same thing himself. His professed morals looked empty in light of him impregnating a 15 year old but even his claim to have Becca’s best interests at heart is also empty when you hear some of his own words from the past.
In 2012, Becca, who was with Kiki Banson as her manager at the time, had a falling out with her dad which led him to disown her and take everything he has ever given her back.
Speaking at the time, Becca’s dad said the singer was dead to him and could never be his daughter, even after he died.
He told the Flex newspaper, as reported by Graphic Online here, that: “Becca is no more my child and she can do whatever she pleases with her life. She is of no importance to me anymore.
“She is grown so if she thinks Kiki is the one she really wants to marry, she can go ahead and marry him. I have already disowned her. I don’t care if the mother supports her or not. Looking at my health condition now, I wouldn’t want to do anything that will affect me and the rest of the family. Everything I gave her has been taken back. She is no more my child and will never be my child, not even when I’m dead.” Loving Mr Acheampong said.
Becca’s mum might not be an angel but Mr Acheampong is 2definitely not far from the devil himself" considering the totality of his actions, all the way back to the moment Becca was conceived.
