The youngster has revealed he wants to emerge as best goalkeeper at the upcoming Fifa U-17 World Cup tournament in India

Ghana U-17 goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim says he is aiming at winning the best goalkeeper accolade at the 2017 Fifa U-17 World Cup holding in India in October.

The 14-year-old, who plays club football with Asante Kotoko, won the golden gloves during the Africa Cup of Nations held in Gabon, after conceding only a goal and keeping four clean sheets.

''I am optimistic of achieving success at the World Cup. I even had it in my diary that when I go to the Africa Cup, I will go and win the golden gloves and I subsequently did it,'' Ibrahim told Kwese Sport.

''And, I'm doing the same thing now ahead of time for the upcoming World Cup. So I'm training hard towards what I have targeted to achieve during the World Cup in India. I'm very sure that I will be able to win the best goalkeeper award. It is something that is not beyond me so I am doing everything possible to annex it as I plan to make it to the top of my career one day,'' he added.

The Black Starlets are currently at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence preparing for the tournament. They won silver at the Africa Cup of Nations and have been pitted in Group A against hosts India, United States of America and Columbia.

Aside Ghana, Mali, Guinea and Niger, who are making their maiden appearance at the World Cup, are the other representatives from Africa.
